2015 OAKLAND Turner School of Construction Management
Turner Construction, Union Bank and EBMUD are kicking off Turner’s annual construction management training program on February 24th in Oakland. This program is geared towards business owners in the construction industry who want to target their business for quality and growth, while at the same time develop new strategic business relationships. Each class provides networking opportunities between other business owners and Turner industry experts that lead the class. The Estimating and Scheduling classes have an additional hands-on exercise that offer participants real life work experiences.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND Local, minority-owned, women-owned, disabled veteran owned, disadvantaged and small emerging businesses that are general contractors, specialty contractors, construction managers, construction consultants, and other companies that work closely with construction firms.
COST OF THE PROGRAM There is NO COST to program participants. However, participation in the training program is a commitment to attend a minimum of 11 classes in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.
CLASS SCHEDULE Classes will be held twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM beginning February 24th ending April 21st. Classes consist of two-hour courses in: Accounting Basics for Contractors, Estimating, Bidding & Procurement, Field Operations, Insurance & Bonding, LEAN practices, Management, Marketing & Sales, Project Delivery Systems & Contract Risk Management, Safety, and Scheduling.

Registration deadline is February 13, 2015.
- There are only 50 spots available. Space is limited, so only one participant per company will be accepted.
- To be considered, your firm must have actively performed work in the construction industry for at least one year prior to registration.
- This program is only for local, minority-owned, women-owned, disabled veterans and small emerging businesses.
- If your company is selected, you will be notified no later than Tuesday, February 17th.

NEWS FLASH: Turner is offering a second training program in San Francisco beginning in August. Be on the lookout for a separate email that will be sent in the summer. Turner is not offering this program in Sacramento in 2015 but will do so in 2016.
