The Burgess Brothers business venture began in 2012. The twin brothers are natives of Sacramento, California. Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of California, Davis; is a public servant, entrepreneur, cook, motivational speaker, brand ambassadors and vice president of research and development for the Burgess Brothers Brand. Collectively, Jonathan and Matthew brought their talents and ideas together to develop and market a host of products fit for the hospitality industry, in addition to creating the World’s only ChurWaffle.

Roger, also known as “the Voice,” has served as emcee or VOG for a number of organizations, including NMSDC and its Regional Councils, Fortune 500 companies such as Toyota and Honda, and multiple cultural Chambers of Commerce. In true servant leadership fashion, Roger serves on boards in his community. And, in 2017, Roger was recognized as the #Hes4Shes champion at the WBENC National Conference.

Grace is grateful to be inspiring leaders locally, nationally and internationally through her speaking, writing and educational programs. She is a Certified Coach with the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC). She has more than 19 years of experience as a business owner, facilitator and professional speaker. She recently received the honor of being named the National Advocate of the Year for Working Mothers and Outstanding Mother of the Year by the American Lung Association.

Nicki began her career as a teacher and has been an entrepreneur most of her life. She built successful businesses, held executive positions in the US and an international company. She has spoken at conventions around the world and provided consulting to hundreds of companies. Nicki is a Certified Business Coach through the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches. She is also a best-selling author, international speaker, and has received numerous awards such as: Top 30 Female Entrepreneurs in America, Hero for Humanity and National Advocate of the Year for Working Mothers.
Fun Fact: I have dated my husband for 51 years and we have been married for 46 years. I am blessed!

Cecil Plummer is the president and a member of the Board of Directors for the Western Regional Minority Supplier Development Council. Plummer formerly worked with Robert Half for 17 years and left his most recent position as the Director of CSS Strategic Solutions to join the Council. Plummer has over 13 years of executive leadership experience and possesses a solid background in strategic sourcing, change management, performance and process improvement, Supplier Diversity, strategic planning, and risk management.

Sylvia L. Daniels Ray is Cardinal Health’s Supplier Diversity & EPP Manager for the West Region. She is responsible for the execution and oversight of the supplier diversity and environmentally preferred purchasing strategies for Cardinal Health’s partnership with Kaiser Permanente. Prior to joining Cardinal Health, Sylvia worked for Henry Ford Health System in Southeastern Michigan for 16 years. As a Healthcare Supplier Diversity Professional, she has over 20 years of progressive experience in Supplier Diversity, Vendor Management and Vendor Compliance.

Scott A. Vowels is the Supplier Diversity manager at Apple. He first made a name for himself by successfully leading both the Northern California (2009–2013) and Alabama (2004–2009) Minority Supplier Development Councils to national prominence as President & CEO. He is the author of two Amazon Best Selling books: “Don’t Be Afraid to Call the Baby Ugly” (released in 2014) and his newest book, “Hacking Supplier Diversity,” which redefines the long-standing business case for Supplier Diversity.
